The original Icebox Cafe is located at Lincoln Road on South Beach. It was established in 1998 and has become a local institution in Miami-Dade County. It is known for its healthy foods, delectable desserts and coffees. Icebox is noted for its quality customer service and is the "it" place to go for a meal, or for a coffee or tea (with or without a dessert) with a friend, to sit and read the paper, or to go for dinner after leaving a show at one of the nearby theatres.
Icebox has had one basic philosophy since its inception: to offer homemade gourmet food, prepared with the freshest of local ingredients available, at affordable prices and served with the highest and best customer service.
Since its inception, the Icebox Cafe has received both local and national attention for its food and desserts. Icebox's signature chocolate cake, "Chocolate Delight" (formerly known as "The Bomb", was featured on the BEST CAKES IN AMERICA SHOW by Oprah Winfrey. Icebox has received accolades and, along with its owner, Robert Siegmann, and has been showcased on Rachel Ray, The Food Network, local Channel 6 and Channel 7. The Icebox Cafe has also been featured in The New York Times, Food and Wine Magazine, Gourmet Magazine and the Miami Herald, plus many others.
